History of the boatyard |
History of the boatyard... The following photograph was taken in 1908 looking across Pin Mill waterfront towards the boatyard. You will be able to spot the sheds used for boatbuilding by George Garrard who started around 1850. His apprentice Harry King took over the business in 1898. The sign in the picture was repainted and is the same sign outside the yard today.
Harry King working in the shed, or "shanty", with his shipwrights. This photograph was taken around 1900.
