Pin Mill is a hamlet set in a sheltered anchorage about half way up the River Orwell.  Once a busy landing point for barges, and home to many small industries such as sail making, a maltings (which is now our workshop) and a brickyard, Pin Mill is now generally known for it's recently extended Butt & Oyster pub and for yacht and dinghy sailing.

Pin Mill has much to offer to a range of interests.  The original sail loft was for many years a chandlery owned and run by Tony and Christine Ward.  Tony runs the mooring business with ourselves, and we have spaces available for visitors.  The building is now a photographic studio, which also offers photography courses, and the shop front is run as a ceramic café. Beautiful gifts, art work by local accomplished artists, jewellery, cards, and ice-creams are also for sale.

The Pin Mill Sailing Club looks over the river and welcomes visiting yachtsmen.  The common is a great place for picnics, and the grindle (Suffolk word for stream) keeps children busy making dams and playing pooh sticks under the causeway.  There are also some stunning walks along the shoreline and woodlands.
